Operation FANSAN YAMMA Rescues 25 Kidnap Victims

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully rescued 25 kidnapped victims during operations in Katsina and Zamfara states. The Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, reported that on September 3, 2026, troops in Katsina engaged terrorists during a night patrol in Sabuwa Local Government Area, rescuing two victims who had been abducted along the Dandume–Damari Road.

In a separate operation in Zamfara State, Sector 2 troops rescued 23 civilians, including three males and 20 females, who had been held captive for approximately three weeks. The victims were abducted from communities in Gummi Local Government Area.

Following their rescue, the victims were evacuated for medical attention and debriefing. These operations reflect the ongoing commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to combat terrorism and kidnapping in the North-West region, with military sources indicating increased pressure on terrorist groups through sustained patrols and intelligence-driven missions.
