Soldiers Kill Boko Haram Fighter in Yobe State Operation

On July 19, 2026, troops from Operation Hadin Kai, under the command of Capt. Moham Goni, engaged Boko Haram terrorists in Yobe State, successfully killing one fighter and foiling an attempt to collect illegal levies from local residents.

The operation was conducted after credible intelligence indicated the movement of two Volkswagen Golf vehicles and a motorcycle used by the terrorists. During the engagement, troops overwhelmed the terrorists with superior firepower, leading to the immobilization of one vehicle and the neutralization of its driver.

Four terrorists abandoned their vehicle and fled into the surrounding bush. Following this, on July 20, troops conducted further operations along Paya, Kafiya, and Garin Gada, recovering an abandoned Volkswagen Golf vehicle containing 25 rounds of ammunition, an AK-47 magazine, and assorted drugs.

This military action demonstrates the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations aimed at disrupting terrorist logistics and dismantling their revenue networks.
