Oyetola, APC Frustrate Adeleke's Bid to Join Party

The campaign organization of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has stated that Gboyega Oyetola and other APC members frustrated Governor Ademola Adeleke's efforts to join the party. Bamidel Salam, a representative of the campaign council, provided an account of the situation, indicating that Adeleke had received an invitation from prominent APC leaders and had considered joining the party.

However, members of the APC in Osun were reportedly uncomfortable with his potential membership. The organization claims that Oyetola employed tactics such as blackmail and subtle threats to dissuade Adeleke from joining the APC.

Despite these efforts, Adeleke has expressed a desire to remain with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and is focused on the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. Salam also criticized the state of insecurity in Osun, urging the Inspector General of Police to take necessary actions to ensure voter safety during the election.
