Osun APC and Adeleke Dispute IG's Security Claims

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke are at odds over security claims made by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu. During a visit to the state, Disu informed Adeleke that a suspect was believed to be hiding in the government house.

Adeleke dismissed these allegations as unprofessional and politically motivated, asserting that the IG's comments could embolden criminals. Kolapo Alimi, the APC spokesperson, criticized the IG's remarks as a form of subtle blackmail and accused him of failing to address crime effectively in Osun State.

Alimi further stated that the current administration's performance regarding security is poor, and Kola Olabisi, another APC spokesperson, described the allegations against Adeleke as misplaced. The APC's governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, also expressed concerns about the politicization of serious security issues in the state.
