APC Warns of PDP's Alleged Plot for LG Takeover in Osun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has raised concerns regarding an alleged plan by some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to seize control of local government secretariats across the state. In a statement signed by Kola Olabisi, the APC's Director of Media and Information, the party reported receiving information about purported PDP local government chairmen and councillors planning to enter the 30 council secretariats and the Area Office on Thursday.

The APC claims that this plan involves the deployment of political thugs, allegedly brought in from within and outside Osun State, and is linked to ongoing legal battles over local government leadership. The APC accused certain officials of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) of supporting this alleged takeover.

The party referenced a Supreme Court judgment that deemed the PDP council executives as not recognized by law. The APC urged the police, Department of State Services (DSS), and Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to prevent any violence, emphasizing that the matter is still before the Court of Appeal.
