Osun APC Members Protest Alleged Primary Election Rigging

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State staged a peaceful protest at the party's state secretariat in Osogbo on Thursday, alleging a plot to manipulate the results of the primary elections for the Obokun State Constituency ahead of the 2027 general polls. The protest specifically accused Mr.

Wole Ok, the current representative of Obokun/Ijesha Federal Constituency, of attempting to replace the primary election winner, Mr. Gbenga Falop, who secured 2,594 votes.

Protesters carried placards demanding that their votes be respected. Mr.

Oyewol Oyebanji, speaking on behalf of the protesters, stated that the primary was conducted successfully and warned against any attempts to overturn the results, which would undermine internal democracy and erode trust in the party. Hon.

Oluwol Ok, a member of the APC, denied the allegations against Mr. Ok, describing them as misleading and outside his jurisdiction.

He emphasized that grievances should be addressed through appropriate party channels rather than public attacks.
