ADC Congratulates Adeleke, Raises Concerns Over Election

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the governorship election held on Saturday. In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC described the outcome as a victory for democracy and the people of Osun, achieved despite alleged intimidation and misuse of government resources by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ADC commended the collaboration of opposition parties and their supporters in overcoming what it termed APC tyranny. The party claimed that over 30 state governors and senior officials were mobilized to support the APC, yet voters turned out in defiance of intimidation.

The ADC expressed concerns regarding the suspension of result uploads on the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV), alleging that it was halted for nearly four hours on Saturday night as the APC appeared to be losing. The ADC demanded a full explanation from INEC, warning that such incidents could threaten the integrity of future elections.
