APC and PDP Challenge Adeleke's Re-election in Tribunal

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have officially filed petitions contesting the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Osun State governorship election petition tribunal in Osogbo. Both petitions, dated September 5, 2026, were publicly displayed on the tribunal's notice board on September 7, 2026.

The APC's petition, under suit number EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026, was filed by its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, naming Adeleke, the Accord Party, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as respondents. The PDP filed a separate petition under suit number EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, submitted by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola, also naming Adeleke, INEC, and the Accord Party as respondents.

The filing of these petitions marks the commencement of the legal process to resolve disputes from the election that returned Adeleke to office. Tribunal secretary Pefe Belemore confirmed the receipt of the petitions, and preparations for formal hearings were underway.
