Osun Senator Fadahunsi Summoned Over Violent Threats

The Osun State Police Command has summoned Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East in the Senate, following a threatening statement he made against members of the Accord Party ahead of the upcoming governorship election on Saturday. The police spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed that the Commissioner of Police in charge of the election, Samuel Etaifo, issued the summons.

In a video that circulated on social media, Fadahunsi stated that any Accord Party member found in Ilesha before the election would be killed. This statement was made during a protest at the palace of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, where he addressed concerns over the alleged killing of three APC members.

Additionally, Francis Eniade, the APC candidate for Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency, echoed similar sentiments, warning that no Accord member should vote in Odo Otin. Governor Ademola Adeleke has demanded Fadahunsi's arrest, expressing that such threats could lead to mass killings and has raised the issue with the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
