Adeleke Campaign Initiates Headcount of Violence Victims

The Imole Campaign Council has launched a post-election review to document victims of electoral violence in Osun State, following the governorship election on Saturday, where Ademola Adeleke emerged victorious over Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, securing 511,067 votes. This initiative comes in the wake of reported violence, including the killing of Accord Party supporter Ajayi Aderogba in June.

The council, led by spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi, emphasized that the headcount will include individuals who sustained injuries, families who lost loved ones, and those whose properties were damaged, irrespective of their political affiliations. The council previously alleged that several members of the Accord Party and Adeleke's supporters faced violence during the campaign, with names such as Kolade Eluyera, Ezekiel Olapade, and Timilehin Oni mentioned among the deceased.

The campaign council has directed local government structures to compile comprehensive records of all affected individuals for further review.
