Accord Party Accuses APC of Election Hacking Scheme

The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of importing and harboring election result hackers at a hotel in Osogbo, Osun State. This allegation was made in a release signed by the State Chairman of the Accord Party, Victor Akande, who called on security agencies to apprehend those involved.

The Accord Party claimed credible reports indicated that these hackers aimed to compromise the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) digital system to manipulate election results. In response, APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi dismissed the claims, asserting that the APC would win the upcoming election without resorting to fraud.

He characterized the allegations as a reflection of the Accord Party's fear of defeat. The Accord Party urged INEC to strengthen its ICT security and called for a raid on the GMT hotel to prevent anti-democratic activities.

The upcoming election is scheduled for August 15, with the Accord Party fielding incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke and the APC presenting Bola Oyebamiji as its candidate.
