Momodu Warns Adeleke Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

Dele Momodu, a veteran journalist and publisher, sent a message to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. In his message, Momodu, who referred to Adeleke as his “twin brother,” cautioned him to be vigilant about the conduct of the election, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would not ensure a free and fair process due to its control by President Bola Tinubu.

Momodu claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was intent on using the election as a rehearsal for the 2027 presidential election. He mentioned receiving warnings from friends within the APC about potential tactics to secure control of Osun State.

Momodu encouraged Adeleke to rely on God and commended his achievements in office, suggesting that the opposition had little to showcase from their past. This message followed concerns raised by Adeleke’s nephew, Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, regarding the election's conduct.
