Akwa Ibom CP Warns Officers Against Misconduct in Osun

Mohammed Azare, the Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, issued a warning to officers assigned to Osun State for special election duty, emphasizing the importance of avoiding misconduct. He specifically prohibited the consumption of alcohol, extortion, and intimidation of voters while on duty.

During his address before their departure, Azare reminded the officers to comply with the social media policy set by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, which restricts sharing sensitive election-related materials. He assured that adequate transportation arrangements had been made for the officers' travel to and from Osun State and instructed them to use only the officially approved transportation.

Azare warned that any officer found engaging in misconduct or unauthorized collection of money would face disciplinary action. He stressed the need for neutrality and professionalism, stating that officers must not allow themselves to be influenced by political parties or candidates.
