Akwa Ibom CP Warns Officers on Election Conduct in Osun

CP Baba Mohammed Azare of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command issued a warning to officers deployed for election duty in Osun State, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and integrity. During an address in Uyo, he reminded the officers that their conduct must reflect the standards expected of the Nigeria Police Force.

Azare instructed the officers to remain neutral and avoid any partisanship, intimidation of voters, extortion, harassment, or unnecessary use of force. He also cautioned against violating the Inspector-General of Police’s Social Media Policy, prohibiting the sharing of sensitive election-related materials.

Furthermore, he assured that adequate transportation arrangements had been made for their travel to and from Osun State, warning against any unauthorized collection of transportation fees. Officers were directed to report any attempts to demand such payments.

The CP's address underscored the critical nature of their role in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
