Adeleke: No Rigging in Osun Governorship Election

On Monday, Osun Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke declared at a campaign rally in Oke-Ila, Ifedayo Local Government Area, that no individual or group could rig the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15. He emphasized that the votes of the people would determine the election's outcome, stating, “Osun votes are untouchable.” Adeleke expressed confidence in his electoral prospects, citing strong public support reflected in rally turnouts.

He accused opposition politicians of attempting to manipulate the election and incite violence, labeling such claims as “fear mongering.” He urged eligible voters to protect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and remain vigilant. Adeleke also noted that threats of violence had only strengthened the resolve of Osun residents to participate peacefully in the election.

During his visit, he was welcomed by traditional rulers, including the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, who praised Adeleke's governance and highlighted the potential for tourism and sports development in Ifedayo.
