Osun IPAC Rejects Uncustomised Ballot Papers for Election

The Osun State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has formally rejected the proposed use of uncustomised ballot papers and result sheets for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. This decision was made following a court judgment on July 22, 2026, involving the Social Democratic Party (SDP), which has implications for the preparation of electoral materials.

Odesola Oluseye Titus, the caretaker committee chairman of Osun IPAC, emphasized that using uncustomised materials could undermine public confidence in the electoral process. He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to adhere to the court ruling and ensure that all electoral materials meet required specifications.

Titus also raised concerns about Pauline Ugoyenka, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ebonyi State, being present in Osogbo despite not being deployed there. He called for an investigation into her conduct.

The council plans to monitor developments leading up to the election to advocate for a fair and transparent electoral process.
