Oyebamiji Challenges Adeleke's Empty Treasury Claim

Munirudeen Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, has rejected the assertion made by incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke that the state was financially insolvent when he took office from Gboyega Oyetola. During a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, Adeleke claimed the treasury was empty.

In response, Oyebamiji stated that Oyetola left approximately N15 billion for the incoming administration. He argued that the current administration has access to significantly more resources than previous ones, yet there is little evidence of development to justify the funding received.

Oyebamiji pointed out that 97 percent of resources are concentrated in just two local governments, which he described as an aberration. He noted that Osun received N450 billion during the 12 years of APC governance under Aregbesola and Oyetola, while Adeleke's administration has collected N650 billion in just three and a half years.

Oyebamiji pledged to ensure transparent and equitable resource deployment if elected governor.
