Adeleke Pays N80 Billion Pension Debt in Osun State

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, revealed that his administration has paid over N80 billion in inherited pension debt and cleared more than two-thirds of the half-salary arrears owed to state workers. Speaking at a town hall meeting organized by Arise TV on Tuesday, Adeleke emphasized that addressing workers' welfare has been a major priority since he took office in 2022.

He expressed pride in the progress made, stating that his government has demonstrated that financial challenges can be resolved with political will. Adeleke, who won the 2022 governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), explained his decision to leave the party for Accord due to internal crises.

He also highlighted significant achievements, including the construction of 350 kilometers of roads, three flyover bridges, and the rehabilitation of over 200 primary healthcare centers and 150 schools. Adeleke's administration aims to continue these efforts if re-elected in the upcoming August 15, 2026 election.
