Osun LG Chairmen Donate 60 Patrol Vehicles for Security

On a Saturday, local government chairmen in Osun State, under the leadership of Samuel Idowu, donated 60 patrol vehicles to security agencies at the Osun State Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Osogbo. This donation follows a previous contribution of 30 patrol vehicles, bringing the total to 90 vehicles aimed at improving security in the state.

Idowu emphasized the importance of security as a foundation for development, stating that without peace and stability, no society can thrive. The initiative reflects the commitment of local governments to address security challenges effectively, leveraging their autonomy following a Supreme Court judgment.

Ibrahim Gotan, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, commended the efforts of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and highlighted that the vehicles would enhance the operational capacity of various security agencies, including the Nigerian Army and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The vehicles are intended to ensure public safety and maintain order across Osun State.
