Tinubu Faces Political Setbacks in Osun Election

In the aftermath of the Osun State election, President Bola Tinubu, despite not being on the ballot, experienced significant political losses. The election results revealed that some APC leaders, whom Tinubu had summoned to the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, failed to secure victories in their polling units.

Tinubu had called for unity among the APC leaders following a report from National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, which indicated dissatisfaction among party members regarding their exclusion from campaign activities. Although Tinubu maintained a neutral public stance and called for a credible election from INEC, observers noted his desperation to reclaim Osun State for the APC.

The EFCC's freezing of the Osun government account prompted Tinubu to demand its unfreezing, expressing embarrassment over the timing of the agency's actions. The campaign saw various governors, including Edo State's Monday Okpebholo, criticize the incumbent governor, Adeleke, leading to public exchanges, including a response from singer Davido.
