ODA Advocates for Peaceful Campaigns in Osun Elections

The Osun Development Association (ODA), represented by its chairman Dr. Segun Aina, has urged political parties and candidates in the Osun State governorship elections to conduct issue-based campaigns.

The ODA emphasized the need for utmost restraint and civil respect during the electoral process to maintain peace and unity in Osun State. Dr.

Aina highlighted that the elections should be a healthy contest of ideas and visions that advance the state, rather than a platform for violence, intimidation, or hate speech. He noted that Osun State has a reputation for political consciousness and maturity in exercising democratic rights, and urged candidates to focus on issues directly impacting citizens, such as economic development, education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth employment, agriculture, and security.

The ODA also called on community leaders, traditional rulers, and religious leaders to promote dialogue and peaceful coexistence, while urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a transparent and credible electoral process.
