Oyebamiji Challenges Adeleke on Federal Allocations in Osun

Munirudeen Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration to provide an account of federal allocations received since Adeleke took office. During a Town Hall Meeting organized by Arise TV, Oyebamiji claimed that the state inherited N15 billion from the previous administration led by Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

He asserted that Osun State has received N650 billion in federal allocations under Adeleke in just three and a half years, compared to N450 billion over 12 years under former governors Rauf Aregbesola and Gboyega Oyetola. Oyebamiji criticized the distribution of resources, stating that 97 percent of these funds go to only two local governments, which he described as an aberration.

He urged the public not to be misled by narratives suggesting the Adeleke administration inherited an empty treasury. Oyebamiji acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic reforms, which he believes have increased federal allocations to the state, yet he expressed concern that the visible developments in Osun do not reflect the level of resources available.
