Osun Teenager Timileyin Oni Shot Dead, Parties Accuse Each Other

On Monday night, around 11 PM, 19-year-old Timileyin Oni was shot dead in Ijebu Jesa, Osun State. The Osun State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that Oni sustained gunshot wounds to the head and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Preliminary findings suggest the incident may be cult-related, with three other individuals injured. The police responded to the scene after receiving reports of the shooting.

Following the incident, Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for the Accord Party's campaign council, accused the APC of being responsible for the violence, claiming armed thugs attacked the town, resulting in panic. In response, the APC condemned the violence and distanced itself from the incident, asserting that it does not support such actions.

Local government chairman Olubunmi Obeisun dismissed the claims made by Olajengbesi, emphasizing that the attack was not politically motivated. The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests reported.
