Adeleke's Wife Urges Peaceful Voting in Osun Election

On Saturday, during the ongoing governorship election in Osun State, Ngozi Adeleke, the wife of Governor Ademola Adeleke, urged eligible voters to exercise their civic rights and participate in the electoral process. After casting her ballot, she assured voters that the voting was taking place peacefully, stating, “there’s no intimidation of any kind.” Adeleke appealed to Osun residents to take pride in their civic responsibilities, emphasizing that there was no rancour or fighting at her polling location.

Her comments came in light of heightened security concerns and allegations of intimidation leading up to the election, despite reports of early turnout and a heavy security presence in areas such as Osogbo, Ede, and Ilesa. The election is being conducted across the state's 30 local government areas, where voters are choosing between major candidates, including incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke and his challengers.
