APC Members Protest Imposition of Local Government Candidate

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ovia North East, Edo State, staged a protest against the imposition of Mr. Christoph Eriamato as the local government chairman.

The protesters, represented by the Ovia North East Voice, expressed their concerns in a letter addressed to the state governor, Senator Mondai Okpebholo. They argued that Eriamato, a non-indigene and not a member of the APC, should not be appointed to such a vital position.

The group claimed that his appointment undermines local representation and weakens the party's cohesion. They accused Eriamato of previously working against the party's interests and demanded that the nomination process be halted until a transparent consideration of bona fide indigenes occurs.

The protesters called for a meeting with local party leaders and stakeholders within seven days to uphold guidelines for local government positions. Chief Lucky Imasuen dismissed the protesters' claims, labeling them as hired agents of the opposition.
