Oyo Assembly Confirms Dr. Ladipo Taiwo as Commissioner

The Oyo State House of Assembly confirmed the appointment of Dr. Ladipo Taiwo as a commissioner nominee during a plenary session on Wednesday.

This confirmation followed a recommendation from the House Committee on Special Duties, chaired by Deputy Speaker Mr. Abiodun Fadeyi.

The committee found Dr. Taiwo qualified and suitable for the position.

Governor Seyi Makinde submitted the nomination in a letter dated June 30, 2026, requesting the assembly to expedite the confirmation process. The assembly adopted the committee's recommendation unanimously, affirming that the nomination complied with Section 192 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).

Dr. Taiwo is not new to the Oyo State Executive Council, having previously served as a commissioner for health.
