Oyo State Demolishes Buildings Linked to Crime

On Tuesday, the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, demolished three buildings situated within a fenced compound on Arubiew Road in the Gbendu Community, off Olodo Garage, Ibadan. These buildings were allegedly harboring criminal elements and storing ammunition.

The demolition was executed following a report from the Oyo State Police, represented by Commissioner Abimbola Olugbenga, and was overseen by the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Moje Mogbonjubola. Mogbonjubola stated that the demolition was part of a broader strategy to address security issues in the state and emphasized that the government would not tolerate criminal activities.

This action follows a similar demolition carried out the previous week on buildings associated with kidnappers, including those linked to the sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu. The state government urged residents to remain vigilant and advised landlords and property agents to thoroughly screen prospective tenants.
