Oyo Government Dismantles Alleged Arms Storage Facility

On Tuesday, the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, demolished a building in the Gbenku area of Ibadan that was reportedly used as a storage facility for arms and ammunition. This action was taken following the discovery of the property during ongoing security investigations.

The compound included a storage building and two bungalows enclosed within a fence. The demolition was executed by the state’s public works and transport commission, led by Abdulmoje Mogbonjubola.

The security operations that led to this demolition also resulted in the apprehension of suspects linked to the storage of weapons. This initiative is part of the state government's broader efforts to address insecurity and criminal activities, particularly in light of recent incidents, including the abduction of the twin children of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.
