Oyo Police: Residents Engaged Kidnappers Without Reporting

The Oyo State Police, represented by Commissioner Abimbola Olugbenga, revealed that residents of the Oluyol Local Government Area allegedly exchanged pleasantries with kidnappers while they were bringing abducted victims to a property without notifying security agencies. This statement followed the rescue of Mr.

Busayo John Paul's twin sons, who had been kidnapped. Olugbenga indicated that preliminary investigations suggested that the location had been used repeatedly as a hideout for kidnappers.

Residents reportedly observed suspicious movements around the property but failed to alert security agencies. The Commissioner emphasized the need for community cooperation in tackling kidnapping and banditry, urging residents to promptly report any unusual movements or suspicious activities to relevant authorities to prevent escalation.
