Police Rescue Kidnapped Victim, Neutralize Three Suspects

On May 25, 2026, the Oyo State Police Command, in collaboration with local hunter security agencies, neutralized three suspected kidnappers and rescued an abducted victim identified as Mosudi Gbolagad, aged 50. The operation was initiated following a distress call reporting gunfire from a kidnapping incident.

Local hunters had been conducting a search expedition when they encountered the suspects. Upon arrival, the kidnappers opened fire on the security team, leading to a gun duel where the police's superior tactics resulted in the successful neutralization of the three suspects.

The police command confirmed that the victim, Mosudi Gbolagad, sustained gunshot injuries during the incident and was evacuated for medical treatment. Additionally, an AK-47 rifle, a single-barrel gun, and a machete were recovered from the scene.

The police commended the bravery of the local hunters involved in the operation and reiterated their commitment to aggressive operations against criminal elements in the state.
