Passenger in Boeing 737 Sends Last Goodbye Text After Plane Engine Burst Into Flames

A passenger aboard a Boeing 737 sent a final text message to a family member after one of the aircraft's engines burst into flames during a flight from Corfu, Greece, to Düsseldorf, Germany. The Condor Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Brindisi Airport in southern Italy after the engine failure.

Passengers described being terrified and thinking it could be their last moment. Video footage showed flames coming out of the right engine.

Condor Airlines confirmed the incident, attributing it to a disruption in turbine airflow at an altitude of approximately 40,000 feet. The airline arranged for another aircraft to transport the passengers to Germany.

This incident raises concerns about safety protocols in the aviation industry. Another recent incident involved a small plane crash in Fullerton, California, resulting in two fatalities and multiple injuries.

Authorities are investigating both incidents.
