Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo's Matchmaking Platform Sparks Outrage

Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, the lead pastor of David's Christian Centre and a relationship coach, launched a Christian matchmaking platform on August 25, 2025, which has sparked significant criticism due to its high membership fees, reaching N700,000 annually for the VIP plan. The platform, operated by Love, Dating and Marriage Ministries, is designed to help serious Christian singles aged 25 and above find intentional, God-centered marriages.

Membership requires completion of eight weeks of mentoring classes and personal assessments before accessing matching services. There are three tiers of membership: Regular at N70,000, Premium at N350,000, and VIP at N700,000, with VIP members receiving additional benefits such as personal coaching and priority access to the founders.

Despite its intentions, the platform has faced accusations of being exploitative, as many Nigerians have expressed concerns over the financial burden of the membership costs. A free community option is also available for those not ready to commit financially.
