ATBUTH Launches Clinical Trial Center to Boost Healthcare

The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) inaugurated a clinical trial center during a visit by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Abubakar. This event took place over the weekend and included the flag-off of the federal government's distribution of emergency obstetric newborn care equipment.

Professor Abubakar highlighted the significance of the center for diagnosing and treating diseases, reinforcing the federal government's commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services across Nigeria. Professor Yusuf Bara Jibrin, the Chief Medical Director at ATBUTH, described the clinical trial center as a major milestone in the hospital's commitment to advancing medical research and improving healthcare outcomes.

The center will support research in vaccines, medicine, and health interventions, while also serving as a platform for training healthcare professionals. The initiative received technical support from international partners, including the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and is expected to enhance patient care and health outcomes in Nigeria.
