PDP Leadership Judgment Set for July 10 by Justice Ibrahim

On July 10, Tanimu Turaki and Abdulrahman Mohammed will receive a judgment regarding the leadership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Justice Salim Ibrahim of the Federal High Court adjourned the case, which involves a suit filed against the PDP's Board of Trustees Chairman, Adolphus Wabara, and eight others.

The suit seeks to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize the interim national working committee led by Tanimu Turaki. The legal action stems from allegations of INEC's failure to upload the names of Turaki's interim committee members on its website ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The case follows a Supreme Court judgment in April that nullified a previous convention. The Wike faction of the PDP, which includes notable plaintiffs such as former Niger State Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu and ex-Minister of Information Prof.

Jerry Gana, is challenging the court's jurisdiction over the matter, arguing it falls within the internal affairs of the PDP. Justice Ibrahim will announce the judgment on July 10.
