PDP Screens Governorship Aspirants Ahead of 2027 Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) conducted a screening for governorship aspirants from Abia, Oyo, and Enugu states on Thursday, reaffirming the party's commitment to delivering good governance in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Dr.

Kelechi Anosike from Abia State emphasized the need for civil service reform, proposing a minimum wage of N90,000, while highlighting the state's struggles with poverty and food security. He pledged to support local farmers and promote agricultural policies.

Mogaji Kayode Ogunshola from Oyo State outlined an economic plan focused on strengthening small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and improving rural development, education, and healthcare. He stressed the importance of transparency and inclusivity in governance.

Samson Nnamani from Enugu State also presented his vision for the state, focusing on industrialization and job creation. The screening was led by Ahmadu Makarfi, who heads the PDP governorship screening committee.
