PDP Accuses Ebonyi Governor of Plotting Against Secretariats

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State has issued a warning regarding an alleged plot by Governor Francis Nwifuru to revoke the Certificate of Occupancy for the party's state secretariat located in Abakaliki. This allegation is part of a broader claim that the state government is attempting to undermine opposition political activities in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The PDP's statement was jointly signed by state chairman Chukwuma Igwe, state secretary Henri Ngonu, and public secretary Princ Darlington Onw. The party further alleged that security agencies were used by the state government to chase PDP members from the secretariat while they attempted to clean the premises ahead of party primaries.

The PDP has called for intervention from President Bola Tinubu, the Inspector General of Police, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to protect democratic values. The party emphasized its commitment to using constitutional means to safeguard the rights of its members and the people of Ebonyi State.
