PDP Will Not Be an Extension of APC, Says Iroegbu

Dickson Iroegbu, a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), asserted that the PDP will not serve as an extension of the All Progressives Congress (APC). This statement was made during an interview on a prime-time program on Channel Television, responding to the outcome of an appeal court ruling.

The appeal court, led by Taminu Turaki, upheld a decision made on October 31, 2025, which restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcomes of the 2025 national convention of the PDP held in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November. Iroegbu expressed disappointment over the court's judgment, which did not affirm the legitimacy of the caretaker committee's establishment.

He emphasized that the PDP would not become an appendage of the APC and affirmed the party's support for any governance that aligns with its principles, while criticizing the political system that allows such situations to arise.
