FCT Police Clarifies Viral Video Involving Peter Obi

The FCT Police Command issued a statement regarding a viral social media video depicting Nigeria Police personnel addressing Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Party. Josephine, the Public Relations Officer of the FCT Police Command, clarified that the video misrepresents the incident, which occurred in 2024 when police responded to a distress call about unrest at the Labour Party headquarters in the Utako area of Abuja.

The command emphasized that the interaction captured in the video was purely a police response to a situation and had no political undertones. The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP AHM Sanusi, PhD, ordered a thorough investigation into the video's origin.

The command urged the public to refrain from creating or disseminating misleading content that could undermine public confidence in the police and encouraged verification of information through official channels.
