CDHR Demands Gbajabiamila Step Aside Amid Corruption Probe

The Campaign for Democracy and Human Rights (CDHR) has demanded that Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, voluntarily step aside pending the outcome of an independent investigation into serious allegations against him. The allegations include receiving N27.4 billion and misappropriating N400 million through proxy facilitators.

The CDHR's statement, signed by its National President Yinka Folarin, emphasizes the necessity of ensuring a credible and impartial investigation to preserve public confidence in the government. They condemned corruption, bribery, and abuse of office, asserting that no public official is above the law.

The group also called for the Department of State Services and other relevant anti-corruption agencies to scrutinize the matter without political bias. The allegations against Gbajabiamila are serious enough to warrant a thorough investigation, as they could significantly undermine public trust in government institutions.
