Attack on Oyo Ex-Deputy Governor's Residence Causes Chaos

On Saturday, attackers invaded the residence of Hazeem Gbolarumi, the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, causing extensive property damage, including the destruction of vehicles valued at millions of naira. This coordinated assault occurred in the Ibadan North Local Government Area, coinciding with a scheduled nationwide state congress for the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Investigations revealed that at least ten people sustained injuries of varying degrees across separate incidents in the state. Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlola stated that the attackers had not yet been identified, and no party affiliation was confirmed regarding the assailants.

Abdulrahman Akinoso, chairman of a faction of the PDP, reported similar attacks in various locations, including Ibadan North and Ogbomoso South, further escalating tensions within the party as rival factions vie for control of the party structure in the state.
