Shettima Represents Tinubu at National Police Day 2026

On April 7, 2025, Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the 2026 National Police Day grand finale at Eagle Square in Abuja, representing President Bola Tinubu. Upon arrival, Shettima took a salute during the official parade ceremony.

The event, confirmed by media aide Stanlei Nkowcha, aimed to honor fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The Nigeria Police Force's spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated that the week-long activities from April 2 to April 7, 2025, would include medical outreach, community engagement programs, and exhibitions with security firms to foster collaboration between the police and the public.

Adejobi described the celebration as a historical tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring national security, providing a platform to recognize the force's pivotal role in safeguarding lives and property while reinforcing public trust in the police.
