Shettima Begins Two-Week Leave for Study and Reflection

Vice President Kashim Shettima began a two-week leave on August 7, 2023, which the Presidency described as an opportunity for reading and reflection. Photographs released on Monday depicted Shettima engaged in studying during this break from official duties.

Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, stated that this period allows Shettima to examine ideas more carefully and return to his responsibilities with greater clarity. Nkwocha emphasized that leadership requires a commitment to continuous learning, asserting that stepping away from daily demands is essential for deeper understanding and knowledge necessary for effective service to Nigeria.

He noted that greater responsibility increases the need for ongoing education, reinforcing the idea that learning does not cease when one assumes leadership roles.
