Outrage Over Death of Ibrahim Mbaya in Jos Mob Attack

Ibrahim Mbaya, a 25-year-old student known as "Ibee," died on July 26 after being attacked by a mob in Jos, Plateau State, over accusations of stealing an iPhone 12. The Plateau State Police Command reported that he was brought unconscious to the Jos University Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.

The National Association of Nigerian Students condemned the killing, calling it "heartbreaking" and demanding a thorough investigation. Mbaya was remembered as a creative individual involved in modeling and baking, and he had recently been announced as a Top 30 finalist in the Mr & Miss Glam Nigeria pageant.

His last Instagram post, shared on July 24, conveyed a message of peace. The incident has ignited widespread condemnation of jungle justice on social media, with users questioning the mob's actions and calling for accountability for those involved.
