Gasly Loses Monaco GP Podium After FIA Court Ruling

Pierre Gasly, an Alpine driver, has lost his third-place finish in the Monaco Grand Prix after the FIA Court of Appeal overturned a previous ruling related to pit-lane speeding penalties. Initially, Gasly was promoted to third after Alpine successfully appealed two five-second penalties imposed during the race.

However, McLaren and Red Bull contested this decision, leading to the restoration of the original classification. As a result, Gasly drops to seventh place, while Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar regains third and McLaren’s Oscar Piastri moves to fourth.

The dispute centered on a 77-centimeter difference in pit-lane measurement, with the FIA ruling that the original measurement was accurate and could not be changed retrospectively. The court emphasized that altering the benchmark post-competition would undermine fairness, as all competitors had operated under the same parameters.

Alpine disagreed with the ruling but accepted it, refocusing on performance improvements.
