Curfew Imposed in Mangu Town for Security Reasons

A dusk-to-dawn curfew has been imposed on Mangu town in Plateau State, effective from April 1, 2026. The curfew will run daily from 8 PM to 6 AM until further notice.

This decision was made by the local government chairman, Mr. Jeremiah Dakahap, following careful deliberation with security heads in the area, as it became necessary to safeguard lives and property amid prevailing security concerns. The chairman urged residents to comply fully with the directive and to remain indoors during curfew hours, cooperating with security personnel on duty.

He also appealed to the public to engage in lawful activities peacefully during the day and report any suspicious movements to relevant security agencies. The curfew aims to ensure public safety and security in Mangu town, which has faced recurring security challenges in recent times.

Residents are encouraged to remain calm and support the efforts of security agencies to maintain law and order.
