Aerial Surveillance Key in Nigeria's Counter-Terrorism Efforts

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has declared the deployment of aerial surveillance and bombardment as transformative in the fight against terrorism, enhancing intelligence gathering and precision strikes. Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu honored 14 officers for their bravery and gallantry during various operations.

At a ceremony in Abuja, Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Police Air Wing, Martin Nwogoh, highlighted the critical role of the Police Air Wing in Nigeria's security framework, which includes aerial surveillance, search and rescue, and counter-insurgency operations. Nwogoh praised the courage of the honored officers, some of whom continued their missions despite sustaining gunshot wounds.

He emphasized that promotions reflect a commitment to merit and operational excellence. ACP Oyewuwo Tesleem, speaking on behalf of the officers, described the recognition as a tribute to the courage and teamwork inherent in policing.
