AIG Olaiya Advocates Discipline in Police Force Lecture

On Tuesday, AIG Victor Olaiya, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Headquarters, delivered a lecture during the Zone’s General Lecture Parade, themed ‘Effective Policing Thrives Where Discipline is Upheld.’ ASP Halima Mohammed, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the lecture highlighted discipline as essential for professionalism and accountability within the Nigeria Police Force. AIG Olaiya stressed that discipline is fundamental for effective policing and urged all personnel to demonstrate exemplary conduct in their duties and personal lives.

He reminded officers that their behavior significantly impacts public perception of the police. The AIG reiterated the policing philosophy of IGP Olatunji Disu, emphasizing that citizens are the boss and that policing must be service-oriented, guided by professionalism and respect.

He concluded by sharing insights from a strategic management meeting convened by IGP Disu, encouraging personnel to align their actions with the strategic vision of the Inspector-General of Police. The General Lecture Parade aims to strengthen professionalism and promote a people-centered policing culture.
