AIG Olohundare Jimoh Receives Anti-Crime Award 2025

Olohundare Jimoh, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2, received the award for Most Outstanding Anti-Crime Police Chief in West and Central Africa for 2025. This recognition was due to his innovative crime prevention strategies implemented during his tenure as Commissioner of Police in Lagos State.

The award was presented by the Security Watch Africa Initiative Network at the 19th African Security Watch Awards in Banjul, The Gambia. Since Jimoh could not attend the ceremony, the award was later presented to him at his Lagos office by Patrick Apambu, the International Coordinator, and Elizabeth Ndanku, the national coordinator.

Jimoh dedicated the award to his team, emphasizing teamwork and professionalism. He credited the success in Lagos to proactive policing initiatives, including the Eko Strike Force, which expanded from two to over 18 operational vehicles, enhancing police response capabilities.

He also noted the importance of community policing in intelligence gathering and highlighted the peaceful local government elections in Lagos.
