Three Suspects Arraigned for Incest and Defilement in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has arraigned three suspects in a gender magistrate court in Awka on separate charges related to incest and defiling minors. Ikenna Mojekwu is charged with engaging in unlawful sexual acts with his 14-year-old daughter from Aguluzoigbo.

Chibuik Ikemelu faces charges for unlawful sexual intercourse with another 14-year-old girl, which resulted in pregnancy. The third suspect, 16-year-old Chukwuma Emenik, is accused of defiling an eight-year-old girl from Umuoji.

The arraignment followed a thorough investigation by the police, which aims to protect vulnerable individuals and ensure justice for victims of sexual and gender-based violence. The suspects have been remanded in custody as the court adjourned the matter for further hearing.
