Osun Police Arrest 24 Suspected Cultists Ahead of Elections

The Osun State Police Command announced the arrest of 24 suspected cultists and political thugs in an effort to tackle the rise of cult-related violence and ensure security ahead of the forthcoming elections. Police Commissioner Ibrahim Gotan disclosed this information during a press briefing on Monday.

He stated that the command has intensified operations against cultism, political thuggery, and violent crime, particularly following recent killings in the state. Gotan assured residents that the command is committed to restoring peace and bringing perpetrators to justice.

He acknowledged the political undertones of the recent cult-related killings and warned individuals, including cultists and political thugs, to desist from activities that could disrupt public peace and order, as they would face the full wrath of the law. The police command remains dedicated to maintaining a neutral and non-partisan stance while upholding the rule of law.
